Nurse Nikki Bedingfield comes to The Plastic Surgery Center from Bossier City, Louisiana. Before we were lucky enough to snag her, she was working with the Shreveport-based dermatologist Dr. James Bergeron. She fell in love with dermatology in her five years working with Dr. Bergeron.
“He was an amazing mentor and encouraged me throughout my time working with him,” she said of the esteemed dermatologist.
Nikki graduated from Louisiana State University in Shreveport with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. During her studies, she did a rotation in cardiac rehabilitation. It was during this time that she became enamored with the nursing aspect of rehabilitation. This led her to her next step: becoming a Registered Nurse. She graduated soon after that from Louisiana State with her RN degree.
Nurse Nikki worked for 13 years as a med surg and in home health care. She decided to further her career and pursue an advanced nursing degree through Walden University. It was there that she got a masters in Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner. On top of that, she obtained a certificate as a dermatology nurse practitioner.
She loves her patients. Her dedication goes beyond simply treating them; she strives to get to know them and their families. She draws an immense sense of satisfaction in knowing that she can make a difference in the lives of her patients.
In her free time, Nurse Nikki enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and traveling. She is proud of her daughter whom she raised as a single mother. Her daughter is now 25 years old, who works as a hair stylist in Shreveport.
