FaceTite Shreveport, LA

FaceTite is a nonsurgical treatment that uses Radio-Frequency Assisted Lipolysis (RFAL) to tighten and lift loose and aging skin. FaceTite is also called “non-excisional tightening” because it does not involve any scalpels or long incisions.

As we age, our skin becomes looser and less elastic. Exposure to sun, wind, and environmental toxins help this natural process along. The face betrays our age more than any other area of the body.

Usually, the solution to this problem is facelift surgery, which has longer downtimes and a more difficult recovery. FaceTite is a non-invasive alternative to the traditional facelift

Dr. Forrest Wall is now offering the FaceTite procedure at The Plastic Surgery Center in Shreveport, LA.

In the following post, Dr. Wall and his team of experts will explain the process and how it will benefit their patients.

How Does FaceTite Work?

FaceTite utilizes radio-frequency assisted lipolysis. In this procedure, a surgeon will make very small holes in the outer layer of the skin. These small holes will heal easily and without scarring. Your doctor will use two electrodes for this procedure: one on the inner layer of skin, and one on the outer.

Through these small holes, the inner layer of the skin will absorb radio-frequency (RF) energy as heat. The two electrodes will create a field of heat passing through the skin. These electrodes will also track the temperature of the skin to ensure maximum safety and comfort for the patient.

The focused heat that the parallel electrodes create jumpstarts the production of collagen in the skin.

Collagen is a natural protein that provides structure and firmness to the skin. Think of it as the “glue” that holds the various parts of your skin together.

It is the most abundant protein in the body but becomes less and less present over time. Things we consume throughout our lifetimes such as sugar and refined carbs also damage collagen. Smoking and too much sun will reduce collagen production.

FaceTite’s RFAL process will contract the strands of collagen already present in your skin and jumpstart the production of more. This will lead to tighter and lifted skin on the face, jowls, and neck. No incisions are necessary.

Who Is A Candidate For FaceTite?

Like other facelift procedures, FaceTite is an option for anyone concerned about loose skin around the:

FaceTite is most appropriate for individuals with age-related skin laxity. The best candidates for FaceTite will be:

But FaceTite is not appropriate for every patient.  For instance, FaceTite does not address the accumulation of fatty tissue. This is especially for fatty tissue around the jawline, jowls, and neck. Patients for whom excess fat is a concern may need a supplemental treatment, such as liposuction, for optimal results. Cosmetic surgeons can pair FaceTite with several other cosmetic procedures, such as a brow lift or under eye rejuvenation.   There is no way of knowing for sure if FaceTite is an option for you without talking to an experienced plastic surgeon. During your consultation, your surgeon will discuss your cosmetic goals with you and help you determine if FaceTite is right for you.

What are the Benefits of FaceTite?

Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Forrest Wall can use the FaceTite procedure to tighten the skin in these areas. The procedure is appropriate for patients with mild to moderate loss in facial elasticity. There are many benefits of FaceTite over traditional facelifts. Some of these benefits are:

What are the Results of FaceTite?

Patients will see results instantly after the FaceTite procedure. The results will continue to improve in the following months.

Typically, one treatment is enough to achieve patients’ desired results. But this will depend on the laxity of your skin and your desired results.

These results will last approximately five years, similar to a mini facelift. The skin will age naturally from the point of the FaceTite procedure. Genetics and lifestyle may affect how long your results will last; for example, if you are a smoker or spend a lot of time out in the sun, results may not last as long.

What is the Cost of FaceTite?

The cost of FaceTite will depend on the laxity of your skin, as well as your geographic location. It is certainly cheaper than a facelift and has far less recovery time.

Cost also depends on the number of treatment areas and your surgeon’s level of experience. But it is unwise to seek out an inexperienced surgeon to perform your procedure, even if it is cheaper.

What are the Side Effects of FaceTite?

FaceTite does not have the same complications and side effects that may arise with a more invasive procedure.

The radio-frequency technology FaceTite uses is the same as RF technology in MRIs and other medical scans. After the procedure, there may be some minor swelling and bruising. This should go down fairly quickly.

There is some possibility of mild skin burns. But FaceTite’s handpiece gives constant feedback to your cosmetic surgeon regarding the temperature of your skin, so this is unlikely.

Mild numbness from bruised nerves is normal. This issue will resolve itself in 4-8 weeks.

By choosing an experienced plastic surgeon, you can minimize your risk of these complications.
