BOTOX® Injections in Shreveport

Botox for the Forehead

So, you have a few questions about Botox for the forehead? You’ve come to the right place for answers! Botox and Dysport are both considered preventative non-surgical treatments that work by relaxing the muscles. They are both FDA approved to temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines.

Botox injections are typically injected between the eyes in order to relax the muscles of the forehead, reducing horizontal wrinkles above the eyebrows and vertical Glabellar lines (also known as “11” lines) between the eyes. Despite recent approval by the FDA, medical practitioners remain cautious about administering it. Injection dosage is carefully monitored and regulated.

How Many Units of Botox Do I Need for My Forehead?

Botox is packaged in dosages that range from 50 to 200 units per syringe. The number of units that will be needed for each individual patient will vary based on the patient themselves, and also their desired results.

However, there are certain limits to how many units of Botox should be injected into the forehead. The Glabella region, the 11’s between your eyebrows, will usually require around 15-25 units of Botox. Your Frontalis muscle, or the horizontal lines in your forehead will usually need 10-20 units, as well.

Ultimately a treatment plan will be based on your individual needs.

First Time Botox Patients

It is common for a practitioner to inject fewer units of Botox into the forehead of a patient receiving the injection for the first time. The patient will be given several days to determine how they react to that dosage, and if their desired result was achieved. At the end of that trial period, it is possible your practitioner will administer additional units if they are needed. Once your practitioner has determined how many units of Botox are required for your forehead for each visit, your visits will be spaced approximately four months apart.

How Much Will Botox For My Forehead Cost?

The cost of Botox is unique to each patient, as it is priced by units administered. If 20 units of Botox are administered in the forehead (10 for horizontal wrinkles and 10 for vertical glabellar lines) patients could accrue between $200 and $300 price tags for their forehead injections.

However, the more Botox injections you receive, the longer the effects will last, and the more drastic those effects will be, so the cost of Botox may go down over time.
